Payment Policies

In our continued commitment to provide the highest quality of care available to all of our patients and to have those services comfortably affordable, payments are due at the time of service. We accept payment by cash, check or credit card (Visa or MasterCard).

Insurance

Office Visits We do not directly bill insurance for medical services provided at Ocean Pacific Integrative Health Center. However, we can provide you with a coded claim (superbill) to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Please contact your health insurance company for more detail about coverage for services provided by a “Licensed Naturopathic Physician”. Some PPO plans may provide partial to full reimbursement for services provided at our office.

Labs and Diagnostic Imaging Labs ordered through major laboratories at our office are typically covered by your insurance company if you have a PPO plan and have met your deductible. Alternative lab tests are typically not covered by insurance. However, some Alternative Labs will offer special rates for those with PPO insurance plans. High Deductible Insurance Plans

If you have high-deductible health insurance policy, you may pay a lower monthly premium which allows for part of your monthly healthcare budget for out-of-pocket expenses that are not covered by your insurance plan. Please see HSA and FSA saving accounts below for additional information. At Ocean Pacific Integrative Health Center, we offer discounted rates forroutine labs to make the cost of these labs more affordable for our patients with high deductible plans. Please see the Comprehensive Laboratory Test page for additional information. We can also provide you with coded document (superbill) which you can submit to your insurance company along with your lab bills. Depending on your policy, they may be used toward your deductible. Some of the lab companies we partner with have No-Balance-Billing guarantees, meaning you may never see the bill for the expenses that were subject to your deductible on your Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statement.

Health Savings Account (HSA)

Most employers-offer high-deductible health plans combined with a tax-free Health Savings Account.  If your health insurance plan is HSA compatible, you can set up an account for yourself. If you are shopping for a new plan make sure it is “HSA compatible” to cover qualified out of pocket medical expenses. Funds deposited but not withdrawn each year will carry over into the next year. Please check with IRS or your accountant for maximum pre-tax contribution to have it automatically deposited into your HSA from your paycheck. Money in your HSA can be used to pay for qualifying medical expenses which includes medical appointments, lab tests, prescribed supplements, over-the-counter products, and other medically necessary prescribed services, like therapeutic massage. Some HSAs provide a debit-type card, others require you to submit receipts and will reimburse you.  You may ask us for a Letter of Medical Necessity detailing your dietary supplement prescriptions for reimbursement. Flexible Spending Account (FSA)

Flexible Spending Accounts are much like HSAs except you are at risk of losing your contributions by the end of the year.  For this account, you have to estimate your out-of-pocket healthcare cost to make sure you can take full advantage of this plan. If you reach the end of the year and haven’t spent your set-aside funds, we can help you determine if there are pro-active steps you could take to take full advantage of your FSA plan.
